Parrish began his career in finance in 1980 while working his way through college. During that time, Parrish worked for Farmers and Merchants Bank in Long Beach, California and then Community Bank of Los Angeles. Upon graduation from California State University at Long Beach, Parrish was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a Finance concentration.
Parrish was accepted into the Personal Financial Planning program at IDS Financial Services, a division of American Express. During his tenure at IDS, Parrish excelled in helping clients develop financial plans and provided service to established customers of the firm. He was a member of the Master Planner group and trained new advisors for the company as a Training Manager. In 1994, Parrish founded his own financial planning firm American Financial Advisors, Inc.
Parrish is the proud father of three sons. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America as a young man and earned the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14. Parrish is a member of the Redding East Rotary club and served as President in 2002-2003. He enjoys motorcycling, backpacking and travel. He spends his home time working and relaxing at his ranch in Shasta County.
